ALFALFA PELLETS
Country Companion® 50 LB. Alfalfa Pellets are a convenient, nutrient-dense forage option designed for horses, cattle, sheep, and goats. Made from premium, sun-cured western alfalfa grown in the USA, these pellets provide consistent, high-quality nutrition you can trust. With 15% protein, they supply an excellent source of quality protein and digestible fiber to support healthy growth, body condition, and overall maintenance. The easy-to-handle pellet form makes feeding simple and efficient, while also reducing waste. For animals with dental challenges or those that feed aggressively, pellets can be soaked in water to create a softer, more manageable feed. Whether used as a primary forage source or a supplement to hay or pasture, Country Companion Alfalfa Pellets deliver reliable nutrition for multi-species herds year-round.

- Excellent source of good quality protein and fiber for growth and maintenance

- Horses should be fed 1.5%–2% of body weight in hay per day. See table below for other species. This amount may vary depending on the specific animal’s nutritional needs. Feed by weight not volume. Weigh the amount of forage provided to each animal to ensure you are feeding the proper amount and be sure that you are subtracting the weight of the container.
- Alfalfa pellets can be soaked in water to soften for 30 minutes or until properly softened and fed wet to animals with dental issues, those that aggressively feed, or those prone to choke.
- Gradually replace existing hay with Country Companion forage over a 7–10 day period as to not upset the digestive system. Replace existing hay on a 1 to 1 basis with Country Companion Forage.
- Long-stemmed hay is needed for normal digestion. Feeding some long- stem forage (hay) may help eliminate boredom and prevent stall vices.
- Never feed moldy, or insect infested hay to animals.
- Fresh, clean water should be available at all times.
- If you have questions or for other health or nutrition concerns, please consult your veterinarian or nutritionist.
